Finnish Homeguard Volunteer Service Cross with 1917–1918 Clasp

This listing features an original Finnish Homeguard Volunteer Service Cross, complete with the 1917–1918 clasp and original ribbon. It is a genuine piece awarded to recognize service during Finland's early independence period. This cross was produced by Veljekset Sundqvist and is marked accordingly on the reverse.

Medal Design:
The cross is enameled in striking blue and white—Finland’s national colors. It is designed in the form of a cross pattée with a sword and stylized “S” emblem at the center, signifying the Suojeluskunta (Civil Guard). The bar reads 1917–1918, commemorating the Finnish Civil War and formation of the nation.

Condition:
This medal is in very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. The enamel remains vibrant with no cracks. The ribbon and clasp show minor age-related discoloration. The maker's mark "Veljekset Sundqvist" is clearly visible on the back of the medal.
