The Moscow Mint 3rd Class example shows slightly finer detail and silver tone; both Mennica Państwowa 2nd Class crosses display characteristic warm bronze finish and original ribbons.

Historical and Collectible Significance:

The Krzyż Grunwaldu was instituted in 1943 and officially established in 1944 to commemorate the victory at Grunwald and to honor bravery and service in combat against Nazi Germany.
It was one of Poland’s most prestigious wartime decorations, awarded to soldiers of the Polish People’s Army and resistance units.
Pieces produced by Mennica Państwowa are considered the authentic wartime issues, while Moscow Mint strikes (especially the silver 3rd Class type) are rare and historically significant as early production intended for presentation.

Summary:

A complete wartime set of Grunwald Crosses featuring two 2nd Class crosses and one 3rd Class cross, including a rare silver Moscow Mint example.
Excellent addition to any advanced Polish WWII militaria collection.
